A special breakfast for Father's Day

When you are a father you will eat eggs! With what I like, fried, scrambled, in tortillas, I always thought of this phrase as a child. Today to celebrate it properly, I propose to do a special breakfast for Father's Day, some Benedict eggs or Benedictine eggs.

The recipe originates from the Waldorf Astoria hotel in New York and is a real treat. It is a simple and effective recipe, which will leave every father happy on his special day and does not require more than 20 minutes in the kitchen, although you have to do it with love and dedication so that it is at its point.

Ingredients for a special breakfast

  • 2 slices of bread, 1 egg and two yolks, 25 gr of melted butter, 2 slices of bacon and chives to decorate
  • In addition, a coffee with milk and a juice of two freshly squeezed oranges

How to make a special breakfast for Father's Day

We start preparing the base of our egg Benedict, cutting with a glass two slices of bread so that they are round. The original recipe is made with a toasted bun called muffin 'english but with bread is very rich. We can spread it with a little butter and lightly toast it in the pan. I take the opportunity to also toast the slices of bacon.

Meanwhile, we put water to cook in a saucepan and when it boils, add a splash of vinegar and poach an egg for two minutes, so that it is collected, it is good spin around with a spoon causing a little turbulence in the water, before laying the egg. It looks good in a moment. When we take it out, we cut the clear leftover so that it looks very nice.

The most delicate part of this recipe is make hollandaise sauce, a sauce that can be cut if not done carefully. We put a saucepan with water and on it we put a bowl to make the Dutch to the bathroom Maria. When the water is close to boiling, but before it boils, we set the heat to a minimum and start. We throw the yolks, beat them with the rods and little by little we add the melted butter, making a kind of mayonnaise but with butter instead of oil. In a few minutes, we will have a hollandaise sauce ready.

We set up the special breakfast by putting one of the toasts as a base, on it the two slices of bacon crossed and on them, the poached egg. Then we cover it with the Dutch and sprinkle it with chives. We put the other bread next to it and take it to the honoree, giving the egg a cut at the last moment so that the yolk comes out and leaves you impressed.
