Happy working mom's day, or not

As you know, today is celebrated World Day of Working Women. Therefore, from Babies and more we want to greet all women and especially all working moms They leave their skin both outside and inside the house to get their children ahead.

Congratulations to those who will work with your gut, despite the discomforts of pregnancy.

Congratulations to those who with all the pain of the soul have to leave their babies in a nursery because the maternity leave is over.

Congratulations to those who work outside the home and when they return, even if they are exhausted, they put on the best of smiles to meet the needs of their children.

Congratulations to those who get up every morning to go to work even though their baby has given them a bad night.

And congratulations to those who go out of their way for their family but do not lower their arms for advancing their professional career.

From here our most sincere congratulations for the effort you make day after day.

But after this recognition I can't help thinking that working mothers would have more reason to celebrate if we had more facilities to reconcile family and work life. If for example:

● We were not discriminated against at work because they are mothers or future mothers. Just a couple of days ago we published that pregnancy is the first cause of dismissal among women.

● If we could enjoy a more extended maternity leave. It is struggling to extend it to six months and it would still fall short; preferably 1 year.

● If we could benefit from a reduction in working hours without salary loss for 3 years so that we ourselves will raise our children, without having to leave them several hours in a nursery for others to take care of.

● If companies give workers with children greater facilities (less strict schedules, permissions to breastfeed, nurseries in the workplace, option to work at home, etc.).

● In short, if we could dedicate ourselves to raising our children without being left off the labor map.

When all these solutions are a reality, it will be when working moms can celebrate a sincere and complete happy day of working women.

Meanwhile, within what fits, Happy Working Women's Day to all moms!
