One day my husband tells me: "You look weird" And I answer: "What do you mean?" He says: "I don't know, but you look different, I think you're pregnant."

I laughed because we had been married for 5 years and we still had no children and I thought he was joking. He went to the pharmacy and brought me a home pregnancy test. I took the exam, because I thought he was joking. When I checked the exam, it came out positive. I could not believe it. I dressed immediately and went to the lab and got a blood pregnancy test. When I went to the lab I told my husband to collect the results, I was very nervous and stayed in the car. I see that he is coming, but from his face I thought it came out negative. When he gives me the results and smiles, I verify and he was positive. He smiled at me and we started laughing and ended up crying with joy. It was a great blessing and a great joy.

Until one Sunday, when my baby was 28 weeks pregnant, I started to bleed and the sugar went up. I was so scared that I went to the hospital and on the way the contractions started. I was so scared of losing my first baby. When I arrived at the hospital, I was hospitalized. They told me that I had to stay because they had to put up with my son because he was still too early to be born. They were giving me medications and vaccines to mature their lungs and not to go out. It was already Wednesday and it was the last day they gave me the vaccine for their lungs, when at noon the contractions and bleeding started again. They took me to the emergency delivery room. While they were looking for my gynecologist, the gynecologist on duty was evaluating me. He told me that the boy was in position and wanted to leave. When they started preparing me, I broke the fountain. The gynecologist on duty examined me and the labor process was already under way. They took me to the delivery room. There I gave birth to my baby boy named Markeith Yadiel. He came out so fast that he dragged the placenta and she came out behind him. When the umbilical cord was cut, he began to cry. A miracle!!!. A baby of just 28 weeks, was born in a natural birth and cried like a champion. My baby weighed 1 lb and 15 ounces and measured 15 inches. He was born so strong and healthy that he just had to stay hospitalized to gain weight. It was so and so sad to leave the hospital and have to leave my baby, but it was for his good. He was hospitalized for 1 month and a half. During that time, I visited him every day and I brought him breast milk that was machine-drawn. That made him stronger every day. Finally that special day arrived, his discharge. He was released weighing only 4 lbs. Today he is 16 months old, weighing 27 lbs. He is a healthy child thanks to God and to our care, his daily vaccinations and most importantly: Love I want to tell the mothers of premature babies that it is difficult and very sacrificed. But you can and there are great blessings when taking care of our premature babies. Give them a lot of love and above all have a lot of patience. May God bless all the beautiful babies.
