Surprising photos of the teething process in children

I found some amazing photos They perfectly illustrate the teething process in children. Since the first tooth comes out, actually from the mother's womb when the teeth are formed, a very curious evolution begins.

Logically, in our children we cannot see how the teeth are positioned in the gum. More than one mother would like to know when the child's first tooth will come out, but we can only see a part of the tooth, the crown, since the root remains hidden in the gum.

Therefore, to better understand the formation, location and eruption of teeth These images of skulls of two, five and eight year old children from the University of Dentistry of Illinois, Chicago, come in handy. They may seem a bit unpleasant, but super illustrative. You can see them below.

Two year old boy

Above we see the jaw of a two year old boy with his twenty milk teeth already erupted. Not all children have complete primary dentures at two years, but generally at three years they do.

We can also see how permanent teeth form in the gum.

5 year old boy

Here we see the jaw of a five year old boy, about to start changing the primary or milk teeth for the final teeth.

You can see how the roots disappear in milk teeth, a process called radicular reabsorption that ends with the fall of the tooth that loses support. On the other hand, you see the definitive teeth already formed waiting for the moment to leave.

8 year old boy

Finally, we see the photo of an 8 year old boy which has already changed the first teeth, the incisors, while the primary canines and premolars are about to be replaced by the final ones. Permanent teeth push from inside the gum.

The last molar that appears between 5 and seven years is also seen, and is not replaced.

Thanks to these amazing photos we can understand a little better the teething process in children.
