The story of a library on wheels that brings knowledge and adventures to students

This is the story of a schoolyard that was not resigned to be only the scene of football matches, fights between small dolls that children have hidden in their pockets, and witness of students' corridors that tell their secrets in the shelter of the privacy provided by the remoteness of the teachers.

Also goes into action the library of the same school that seemed sad when I heard the happy voices of the boys and girls who played during recess. Couldn't she accompany them while they enjoy that well-deserved piece of free time? Fortunately, both stories finally meet in an ending that shows that books can be linked to fun. It has happened thanks to the efforts of the professors and professors of the CEIP Gabriel and Galán (Cáceres).

The library of this school is a lively and dynamic space that has a loan system, and between Tuesday and Thursday it receives the visit between boys and girls who at the time of recess go to receive advice from the best helpers that the service could provide. These are the collaborators of the Library: sixth grade students who order, catalog, guide and select the volumes that are part of the Bibliopatio.

The project has been running since the third quarter of last year and has the invaluable help of sixth-grade students and students who voluntarily collaborate making the experience a success

Every day at recess a shopping cart painted in bright colors, and which does not lack its identifying signs roll through the open spaces of the school looking for readers who gladly accept the invitation.

Children who read sitting on the soccer ball, others who seek the comfort of a step, and many more who interrupt their laughter to hear an adventure story that suddenly is able to attract their attention.

I have known this precious initiative thanks to Ana de Biblioabrazo, and I believe that it has actually been the Bibliopatio that has sought me, at a time when my son needed a stimulus during recess. The day after finding the review, he had a tutoring with his teacher, I asked him for permission for the little one to take out reading books in the yard and it seemed like a good idea

Who knows if we have planted the seed, and in the not too distant future the children of our school see a shopping cart painted in bright colors and full of books to fill every corner of the courtyard with fantasy and imagination. Congratulations to those responsible for Bibliopatio in Gabriel and Galán.
