Fundación Telefónica presents 100 innovative educational initiatives in the field of science education

On June 25, 2014 I attended the presentation of the report in Madrid Top 100 Educational Innovations. This is an extraordinary document, which has already been presented in Madrid and Barcelona, and is the result of the world research in search of best teaching innovations for the promotion of technological science careers (STEM).

The search and classification work of the 100 innovative educational initiatives in the field of science education is extraordinary and the report Top 100 Educational Innovations Presents, until now, the situation around the world that is surely already changing. The book, which can be downloaded, is available in Spanish and English. I recommend it for all teachers and parents interested in the situation of STEM teachings in school. What I liked most about the session in Madrid was the intervention of Mamen Salcedo, from UpSocial, at the end of the act in Madrid.

And Mamen made a presentation, very brief, in which we encouraged to enjoy the book by opening a random page, discovering an initiative, deepening it and knowing it in detail. And then look for another one in another country or see what happens in Spain.

My next challenge is to get Mamen to come to Peques and Más to tell us more details about the work in an interview. For now, I think that many of those listed and that are in Spain have commented on Peques and More: ScienceFantasy, Unicoos, First Lego League, etc. although I miss a project as recognized as lasmatematicas.es that, except error, does not appear.

In the following video you can see the full day in Madrid (more than two hours) with the intervention of Mamen at the end of the session (five minutes):

Meanwhile I reiterate my admiration for the workI congratulate the authors for the extraordinary work of analysis and I recommend that all parents and teachers take a look at the initiatives because many of them will surely end up integrating into the usual educational projects.
